A picture of Haconby Chuch

St Andrew's Parish Church of Haconby & Stainfield, whose spire is visible from the A15, is to be found at the end of a sleepy lane - a place away from the village centre, a place for quiet reflection on the transcendence of the God who is always with us, yet always beyond, calling us to a deeper awareness of his presence. It is a place made holy by centuries of prayer and it can lift the hearts of those who visit, those who reflect and those who worship there.

St Andrew’s Church, Hacconby is a welcoming building, with a surprising sense of space.  Parts of it date from the 12th century, and there is a notable medieval pulpit, which can put you in mind of a certain tower in Pisa!

Since the 1700s Hacconby Parish has been served by the same priest as its larger neighbour at Morton.  But since 1995 both parishes have been part of the RINGSTONE IN AVELAND GROUP of parishes, comprising Dunsby, Kirkby Underwood and Rippingale, as well as Hacconby and Morton.

It is in the deanery of Beltislow, in the diocese of Lincoln.

Sunday Services:

St Andrews Church is currently closed for public worship because of Covid-19 Coronavirus.

And that's not all:

St Andrew’s Church is an ancient building cherished by generations of residents of Hacconby.  Each generation plays its part to pass on to the next this rich treasure, this special resource.  The present generation is no different.  Following the theft of most of the lead from the church roof, fundraising for repairs is an urgent priority - see https://www.ringstonegroupchurches.org/st-andrew-hacconby  For the future, there is a bold vision to broaden the use of the building by developing the base of the tower to provide kitchen and toilet facilities and to restore and refurbish the belfry so that the bells can be rung again. This is an ongoing vision that can only be accomplished by the support of the whole community, and indeed of those further afield, who feel some sort of connection with this lovely village and this special building.
